Repairs & Services Policy

At Henry Richards, we take pride in delivering high-quality repairs and services for watches and jewellery. Our policy ensures transparency, fairness, and customer satisfaction by outlining the terms and conditions of all repair and service work.

We offer a one-year warranty on all parts and services provided by Henry Richards. This warranty covers:

  • Parts Replaced: Any parts we replace during a repair or service are covered for one year. If these parts become faulty within this period, we will replace them at no cost.
  • Full Service: A complete overhaul, including movement repairs and adjustments for improved accuracy, is covered for one year.
  • Jewellery Repairs: Structural repairs, such as soldering, stone setting, or resizing, include a one-year craftsmanship warranty.

Our warranty only covers the parts and services provided by Henry Richards and does not include:

  • Accidental damage: Issues resulting from misuse, water exposure (unless explicitly addressed), or external impact.
  • Untouched components: Problems arising in areas not worked on during the repair.
  • Wear and tear: Natural deterioration, scratches, or tarnish over time.
  • Ageing changes: Discolouration or changes due to environmental exposure.
  • Third-party interventions: Any repairs or modifications by unauthorised parties.
  • Vintage/Discontinued items: Where parts must be sourced externally, warranty terms may vary. We will inform you of any limitations before proceeding.

Once a repair or service has been completed, we do not issue refunds. The cost reflects the labour, expertise, and materials used.

  • Dissatisfaction: If you are not satisfied with the repair, we will make reasonable efforts to adjust or rework the service at no additional cost.
  • Partial refunds: Not available under any circumstances, as charges are based on the completed work.

We offer a one-year guarantee on all battery replacements:

  • Battery Failure: If the battery we installed stops working within one year, we will replace it free of charge.
  • Other Issues: Any malfunctions unrelated to the battery are not covered under this guarantee.

While we handle all items with great care, in the rare event of loss or damage during servicing, we commit to:

  • Compensation Based on Market Value: If an item is lost or irreparably damaged, we will compensate based on its market value at the time.
  • Sentimental Value: While we acknowledge sentimental attachment, compensation is based strictly on market valuation.
  • Independent Valuation: If there is a disagreement on market value, an independent valuation may be arranged.
  • Replacement or Repair: If feasible, we will offer to repair the item or replace it with an equivalent product.
  • Proof of Service: Keep your service receipt for warranty claims or compensation requests.
  • Water-Resistant Watches: Resealing and pressure testing are available upon request and may incur additional charges.
  • Non-Original Parts: Occasionally, non-original parts may be required, especially for vintage items. We will always seek your approval before proceeding.
  • Specialised Repairs: Some repairs may require additional sourcing or research, potentially affecting costs. Any extra charges will be discussed beforehand.
  • Customer Responsibility: Customers must disclose any known issues before repairs begin. We are not liable for undisclosed pre-existing faults or hidden defects.
  • Legal Rights: This policy complies with UK Consumer Law, ensuring your right to repair, replacement, or compensation for defective services.

Customer satisfaction is our priority. If you have any concerns about your repair or service, please contact us, and we will do our best to find a satisfactory solution.
